Bishop Gorman x GameStrat: Efficient Sideline Adjustments for a National Powerhouse

Bishop Gorman is one of the most accomplished high school football programs in the country. Under Coach Brent Browner, the Gaels have sustained a standard of excellence built on player development, attention to detail, and a relentless approach in their preparation. For 2025, the staff looked for a sideline replay solution that would keep pace with how efficiently they operate on game day.

This season, Bishop Gorman moved from Hudl Sideline to GameStrat for in‑game video replay. The Gaels were looking for a system that was faster and more reliable, so coordinators, position coaches, and players could confirm certain looks, identify missed assignments, and clean up technique between series without missing a beat.

Why the Switch: Speed and Reliability Without the Headaches

The coaching staff wanted instant access to both end zone and sideline angles on their iPads, loading much quicker than what they were used to with Hudl Sideline. They needed a system that would hold up under pressure, especially in environments like Allegiant Stadium where they play for state championships. For more than five years, they had been unable to rely on having functional sideline replay during the most important game of their season. That was a major motivator in seeking a new solution they could count on.

After asking around, they learned that more than 750 football programs had already moved from Hudl Sideline to GameStrat after experiencing similar issues. Their challenges were not unique, and GameStrat had become the most trusted alternative.

GameStrat’s unmatched download speeds were one of the biggest selling points for Bishop Gorman. With how competitive their schedule is and the high profile opponents they face, speed is everything. The quicker they can see the play on the iPads, the quicker they can make any necessary adjustments. Whether it’s identifying a coverage or reviewing a missed blocking assignment, having that instant feedback gives coaches confidence that their players are prepared for whatever comes next.

Faster Clips to iPads, Faster Adjustments

When you’re playing against the best, seconds matter. With GameStrat, clips transfer to iPads instantly, letting coaches review the previous snap while the next play is still unfolding.

Coordinators can immediately see fronts, coverages, and pressures. Offensive line coaches can quickly point out protection issues, while receivers and defensive backs check alignments and leverage. Defensive coordinators can tag formations and pressures so the box and sideline are communicating seamlessly after every series.

Reliability Built for Big Venues

Every Friday night brings a different environment, and for a national powerhouse like Bishop Gorman, that often includes playing in massive venues where other systems struggle to stay connected. Their state championship games are held at Allegiant Stadium in Nevada, an NFL venue where interference, crowd density, and stadium infrastructure can make sideline replay extremely difficult for most systems.

GameStrat has been battle tested in venues just like this. When Mercer played at Alabama’s Bryant Denny Stadium last season for their home opener, their GameStrat system performed flawlessly despite more than 100,000 fans in attendance. These environments are known for causing issues for other systems, Hudl Sideline specifically, but once GameStrat connects, it stays connected.

This reliability mattered to Bishop Gorman. They had not been able to consistently use sideline replay in a state championship game for more than five years while using Hudl Sideline. Moving to GameStrat gave them confidence that they would finally have a system they could trust in the biggest game of the year, and this season they did.

“Once we connected, we stayed connected. That’s the difference. We weren’t losing connection like we did with our previous system.” -Derek Niggemeier, Director of Football Operations

Proactive Support That Feels Like Part of the Staff

Even though the Gaels ran into some hiccups early on in the season, the GameStrat support team was quick to step in and help. They hopped on Zoom calls with the staff, walked through the setup, and helped diagnose exactly what was causing the issues. After that, GameStrat continued to follow up, setting up meetings to make sure everything was working smoothly and that the same problems wouldn’t arise again. That proactive approach helped Bishop Gorman’s coaches get comfortable with the system quickly and maintain consistent performance throughout the year.

“That’s what set GameStrat apart from Hudl. We weren’t getting nearly the same level of support before.”

Season Reflection

Bishop Gorman completed the 2025 season with an impressive 11 and 1 record, capturing their fifth straight Open Division State Championship and their fifteenth state title in the last sixteen years. They finished the year ranked fifth nationally, reinforcing once again why they are considered one of the premier high school football programs in the country.

Their success continues to come from preparation, discipline, and the high standards within their program. GameStrat is simply grateful to support a small part of what they do on game day, providing tools that help them operate efficiently while they continue competing at the highest level.
