Calgary Roughnecks, NLL - Case Study
With the 2024 NLL season coming to a close last week, we decided to look back at all of our live to bench replay teams in competition this past year. We decided it'd be only fitting to start off our case study series with the first NLL team we started working with last season, the Calgary Roughnecks.
Although the result of their season was not what they would've liked, there is lots that the Roughnecks can look forward to in 2024-25. One of those being the continued success of their live to bench replay system.
GameStrat has been a game changer for us. We use the iPads on the bench for in-game adjustments & challenge reviews.
Calgary Roughnecks Video Coordinator Shawn Cable has been an avid supporter of GameStrat's live to bench replay technology and the simplicity of its in game usage.
The toggle buttons right on the screen are super helpful for working with athletes.
Video Coordinator Shawn Cable is the main operator of the GameStrat system for the Roughnecks. During the game he will watch the game up in the press box & tag live clips on the GameStrat software and send those clips directly down to the viewing iPads on the bench so that the coaches can make adjustments in real time.
Cable described GameStrat's live to bench replay as a great tool for them that can make the difference between a win or loss on any given night.
Our games are so close a majority of the time, so any minor adjustments you can make in the middle of the game can make the difference between a win and a loss.
We asked Shawn how the team uses GameStrat outside of just on the bench in-game, to which he elaborated on the versatility of the GameStrat system.
We can also use it in the locker room at halftime as well as pre scout and review for our next game.
We are pleased to be able to work with a storied franchise like the Roughnecks and we look forward to watching them play next season. For more information on GameStrat's live to bench replay for lacrosse, click here.
